New Partners Help Marketing Leeds Fly Flag for City
Marketing Leeds, the city’s strategic marketing agency, is delighted to welcome Hammerson, Irwin Mitchell and Santander Corporate Banking as Partner Champions following the redevelopment of its Champions Scheme which provides over a quarter of the company’s funding.

These organisations join 16 other Leeds based companies who will work alongside the Chief Executive and the Marketing Leeds board, to help drive the city forward on the international stage. The new scheme includes the introduction of an Advisory Board which will comprise of senior representatives from each organisation who will act as advocates for the city.

Andrew Hilston from Hammerson, the property company which is responsible for the Eastgate Quarters Development in Leeds city centre, David Knaggs from the Leeds branch of Irwin Mitchell, one of the largest law firms in the UK and Neil Williams from international banking group Santander Corporate Banking, join a powerful network of individuals who will inform the city’s overall marketing strategy and help to establish the proposition for specific sectors.

Andrew Hilston, Project Director at Hammerson said: “I am thrilled that we have decided to join forces with Marketing Leeds to help promote Leeds. They are performing an outstanding function within the city to help position Leeds as a premier retail and leisure destination. We are looking forward to working with our fellow champions to ensure that Leeds can realise its full potential.”

David Knaggs, Managing Partner at Irwin Mitchell added: “The Champions Scheme is an excellent opportunity to share ideas, maximise opportunities and promote the Leeds brand to a wider audience and it is something I am excited about being involved in.”

Neil Williams, Regional Director of Santander said: “I am delighted to be actively involved in Marketing Leeds and very much look forward to working together with my fellow Champions as we help to proactively promote Leeds across the UK and around the world."

The new two tier Champions scheme already has a total of 60 organisations on board with the option for organisations to support at an ‘Associate’ level as well.

All Champions benefit from various networking opportunities and a high level of involvement in Marketing Leeds activities, including their international ‘Leeds in…’ events, ‘The Business of’ series, city festivals and various media campaigns.
