Over 80 key business people attended a breakfast briefing at the Irwin Mitchell Offices in Leeds today to hear about the key achievements of Marketing Leeds, the city’s strategic marketing agency.
Presentations by Marketing Leeds Board Members and stakeholders gave invited guests and regional press an overview of the achievements made by Marketing Leeds over the last year, all of which made a significant contribution to raising the profile of the city on the national and international stage.
Key achievements included significant press coverage achieved by the organisation with a PR value of £5.7 million. With a circulation of 165 million globally the coverage reached a potential audience of 495 million. Marketing Leeds also circulated 800,000 copies of its own printed materials, including a style guide to Leeds, special editions of the Yorkshire Evening Post and 2 supplements in national newspapers.
The number of organisations sponsoring Marketing Leeds increased by 28%, from 60 to 77 and Marketing Leeds Board and newly established Advisory Board members gave over 456 hours, equating to 11 working weeks of time.
Key activities over the course of the year which helped to generate this positive coverage included Leeds in Barcelona, the development of the city festivals, including Leeds Loves Food, Leeds Loves Rugby etc and the creation of their national thought leadership series, the Business of.
