Marketing Leeds is the first destination marketing agency for the city, created from a powerful partnership between the public and private sectors. It is a company limited by guarantee with two shareholders Leeds City Council and Leeds Chamber of Commerce representing the broader business community. The company has a board of eight directors drawn from the Council and leading businesses in the city.
Marketing Leeds is committed to developing national and international profile-raising opportunities - promoting the Leeds brand and communicating the city offer.
We will act as a catalyst for exciting new developments and initiatives, which will deliver a real economic impact for Leeds. We want to play a significant part in building on Leeds' prosperity, by Raising the profile of Leeds nationally and internationally. This will be achieved by working in partnership to develop and promote the city.
Why do we need to raise the city's profile?
Communicating the Leeds message is critical in order to compete with the rest of the world. This is the first time that Leeds has united as a city and worked together promoting itself as a first-class destination for business, living, visiting and studying.
Raising awareness of Leeds will have a positive impact on the local economy. By promoting Leeds as a city break destination and a gateway to the wider Yorkshire offer, we will encourage more people to visit the city and experience all that is good about Leeds. We will promote the strong feeling of resident satisfaction and highlight Leeds as excellent place to live and study. Marketing Leeds will also build upon the inward investment efforts already undertaken by the council, thereby helping to move Leeds 'up a league'.
We in Leeds know the city is great, but we also know that with increasing competition, we can't rest on our laurels. Marketing Leeds serves as a platform for the promotion of the city, by articulating the pride and the passion of our ambassadors.
