Harewood House, an architectural masterpiece, has been the home of the Lascelles family since its completion in 1772. Since 1986 it has been run by Harewood House Trust, an independent charitable Trust with the aims of maintaining the House, grounds, and outstanding collections, for the public benefit. It is renowned for its dynamic, innovative and accessible programmes of activities. With no regular central or local government support, the Trust generates all revenue for these award-winning activities via admissions, trading and fundraising. Partnerships with local, regional and national networks are vital components of Harewood's communication strategy. Clearly, Leeds is central to all communications developments - in terms of profile-raising and development of new audiences and visitor markets. Harewood is a major asset for Leeds, just part of the rich cultural assets around the city - and looks forward to playing an active role in these marketing campaigns.
