Jet2.com commenced operations in February 2003, flying daily from Leeds Bradford International Airport to and from Amsterdam. During 2003 scheduled flights operated between Leeds and seven European destinations. For 2004, in response to customer demand, the choice of destinations widened to serve 13 top destinations: Alicante, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Belfast, Faro, Geneva, Malaga, Murcia, Nice, Palma, Paris, Prague and Venice. The Summer 2005 season from Leeds Bradford saw an increase of nearly 50% in capacity along with the addition of services to Ibiza (and the first ever scheduled service from Leeds Bradford to Tenerife starts October 4th 2005), bringing the total number of destinations to 15. Over 2 million passengers have been welcomed through Leeds Bradford, 20% of whom are overseas-originating passengers, travelling into the region. Jet2.com also fly from Belfast, Newcastle and Manchester airports.
