The White Rose Shopping Centre opened in March 1997 and occupies a site of 76 acres, with 650,000 sq ft of retail space. It is anchored by Debenhams and Sainsbury's, in addition to major high street names such as BHS, Woolworths, Argos, Next and Arcadia. The shopping centre compliments the retail offering of Leeds - particularly when the weather is inclement - and works hard to make a meaningful contribution to the community. It has a Study Support Centre, operated in conjunction with the Leeds Education Authority, and works closely with the Leeds Metropolitan University via the Professional Diploma in Retailing Management which is delivered at the Centre by the LMU. The White Rose Centre hopes that by assisting Leeds to improve in its already impressive retail reputation it will also benefit.
